Volunteer Emergency Procedures

Volunteers are the eyes and ears of Meals on Wheels and More. Many of our clients are isolated, and our volunteers are the only people who have direct contact with them each day. As part of this hands-on volunteer experience, we ask you to keep an eye out for the people we serve.



Emergency Procedures 

  • If you find a client in a life-threatening situation, call 911 and then MOWAM. 
  • If you suspect a client is being abused, neglected, or exploited, Texas law requires that you call the Abuse Hotline at 800-252-5400.

You Could Save a Life!

Over the years, many of our clients have been rescued from dangerous situations thanks to the vigilance of our volunteers. Please tell us if you see a client in need!
